Here is a very rare Pentax ME-f 35mm camera with 35-70mm f/2.8 SMC AF Zoom lens. Although somewhat awkward to handle, this camera and lens combo was the first ever to offer autofocus and an electronic focus assist in a 35mm SLR film camera. This one is in excellent cosmetic and perfect working condition.
See below for technician evaluation:
Cosmetic condition: In Very Good condition with only some marks on the exterior finish (mostly on the top plate). The viewfinder is bright and clear with a few specs of minor debris that is purely cosmetic and has no effect on image results.
Film transport gears: Excellent - Advance lever moves forward and advances film smoothly. Film counter advances correctly with each exposure and properly resets back to zero when the roll is completed.
Shutter speeds: Excellent - Tested as accurate at all speeds.
Light Meter: Excellent - Working, tested against professional meter accurate within an acceptable range in all lighting conditions.
Hotshoe: Excellent - Fired with an external flash attached to the hotshoe. We also tested it with an off-shoe flash connected with a cable to the built-in PC port.
Seals and foam: Mirror bumper foam and door seals have been replaced with fresh foam material.
SMC Pentax AF 35-70mm f/2.8 Lens: Excellent - The lens autofocuses properly. The exterior glass optics are clean with no scratches, haze, fungus or separation.
Camera requires 2x A76 batteries and Lens AF motor requires 4x AAA batteries (all included).
Our goal is to provide an accurate, detailed description for each used item that we sell. We focus on testing the most important aspects related to the functionality. Please note that with older vintage items, a slight degree of imperfection is to be expected.
