Condition: Used

The Kodak Retina Ia was the first of the series which became really popular in the 1950s. This model is generally regarded as a rangefinder camera, but is actually more of a scale focus type camera, due to it's lack of a coupled rangefinder patch.
This one is in great working condition and has been film tested.

Comes with 90 day warranty See below for technician evaluation:

  • Cosmetic condition: Very Good - In surprisingly good condition for a camera from the 1950s. It has typical light marks with minor brassing along the edges.
  • Film transport gears: Excellent - Advance lever moves forward precisely and transports film smoothly.
  • Shutter speeds: Excellent - Tested as accurate at all speeds from 1 sec to 1/500 sec.
  • Light Meter: No built-in meter. An external exposure meter is recommended.
  • Hotshoe: Cold Shoe only. There is sync port which was tested and fires precisely with an external flash connected with a cable.
  • Schneider Retina-Xenon 50mm f/2 Lens: Excellent - Produces extremely sharp, high detail images. Optics are in pristine condition with no marks, scratches, haze or fungus.

Our goal is to provide an accurate, detailed description for each used item that we sell. We focus on testing the most important aspects related to the functionality. Please note that with older vintage items, a slight degree of imperfection is to be expected
